Academic Highlights

There are numerous advantages to studying at Griffith, including the diverse and flexible courses available. The interdisciplinary nature of a Griffith University degree is one of the University’s hallmarks, and its courses challenge rigid academic structures. Smaller class sizes create a caring and personalized atmosphere that adds to the approachability of staff. Griffith also has a history of strong ties with the industry to give graduates a competitive edge once they enter the workforce. The Griffith Law School has been named Australia’s leading public university law school by the Graduate Careers Council of Australia and Australia’s top law school by Hobson’s Good Universities Guide, 2006. Griffith's Department of Tourism, Leisure, Hotel and Sport Management is an 8-time winner of the Queensland Tourism Awards for Excellence in Industry Education and the Good Universities Guide’s recently named it the most valued provider of leisure management programs. Additionally, Griffith is sixth in the world for Tourism Research contributions (source: Tourism Management 26 (2005) 641-648; report by Elsevier on a study of research contributions into tourism journals around the world over the decade 1992-2001).

Griffith joins the ranks of Harvard

Griffith University is only the fifth university in Australia to receive accreditation for all its business programs from the leading international business education accreditation body, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).
Less than 5 percent of the world’s business schools are accredited by AACSB International.

Griffith’s MBA also recently received a five star rating for the seventh consecutive year from the Graduate Management Association of Australia (http://www.gmaa.asn.au/).

Griffith is only one of two universities nationally to achieve this feat and the International MBA program also received five stars in only its second year.  AACSB International is the premier accreditation body for institutions offering undergraduate, master and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. It’s an association of more than 1,100 education institutions, businesses and other organisations in 70 countries dedicated to the advancement of management education worldwide (http://www.aacsb.edu/).

A word from our alumni
"The best part of Griffith university was definitely the dorm life...there was always something going on, always someone to talk to. I made the best friends I have ever had and still talk to them every day. I felt really involved and part of the community; I didn't feel like a foreigner at all, I felt like I was accepted and that I belonged. I loved it."
