LEARN MORE>LocationQUT’s campuses – Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove– are located in Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland. As one of Australia’s fastest growing cities, Brisbane is renowned for fabulous weather year round and healthy outdoors living.
Brisbane is the perfect starting point for exploring the beauty and wonder of Queensland, “the Sunshine State”. The perfect beaches of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts are just an hour by bus or train from the city. Not far from Brisbane, keen travelers can find vineyards and orchards, lush gardens and National Parks, pristine hinterland, and wide-open countryside. Those who wish for a little sea air can experience the sunny waters of Moreton Bay and its many marvelous islands.
The Gardens Point campus is the only full-service university campus in Brisbane’s central business district. Situated on the Brisbane River, adjacent to the City Botanic Gardens and Queensland’s Parliament House, the location reinforces QUT’s links with business and industry while creating a dynamic environment for students. The campus is linked with South Bank Parklands by the Goodwill Bridge (a pedestrian and bicycle bridge). Public transport options include regular ferries, trains, and buses, as well as a free student bus service between QUT campuses. Study areas: business, engineering, law and justice, information technology, and science.
Known as QUT’s “hilltop” campus, Kelvin Grove, is situated on a leafy rise just two kilometers from the city center and is only 10 minutes from the Gardens Point campus via the free student shuttle bus. The Kelvin Grove campus has become the hub of innovative space and enterprise, housing the QUT Creative Industries Precinct and the soon to be completed Kelvin Grove Urban Village. Study areas: creative industries (communication, performing arts, multimedia, fashion, film and television, education, health, and justice studies. Extracurricular ActivitiesThe best part about studying abroad is experiencing a different culture, so QUT offers a range of recreational services to ensure students make the most of all aspects of campus life.
Why not join one of QUT’s 70 different clubs such as abseiling, diving, bushwalking, cycling, and rollerblading, just to name a few…or get involved in a rugby league or cricket team and learn more about the local sporting culture. Take full advantage of our on-campus facilities and swim in the indoor swimming pool, or use the squash and netball courts, gymnasiums, athletic fields, or health and fitness centers.Academic HighlightsQUT’s study abroad program gives students the opportunity to study at one of Australia’s most innovative universities.
