The University of Newcastle, established in 1965, attracts students and staff of the highest caliber. It is ranked in the top ten Australian universities for research. The main campus is located about seven miles from the center of Newcastle in the suburb of Callaghan on more than 345 acres of natural bushland. A second campus is located on the Central Coast of New South Wales at Ourimbah, approximately 44 miles north of Sydney.
