|  Beginning the application process to a GlobaLinks Learning Abroad summer or January program is quick and easy. You can apply online simply by creating a MyLearn account. Along with the online application, we also require the following additional materials in order for your application to be complete:
You can send in all application items for a summer or January program together or piece-by-piece and let us take care of organizing it for you. Once your application is complete, you should hear back about acceptance within 2-3 weeks. As long as you meet the minimum requirements set forth by the university and have a complete and satisfactory application, GlobaLinks Learning Abroad can accept you for the short-term program on behalf of the university. If your application does not meet the requirements, there may be some additional information that will be required. Acceptance into a summer or January program is not guaranteed.

Explanation of Application Materials: APPLICATION FORM Complete the application form (front and back) including all required signatures. You can also apply online by creating a MyLearn account. Through your MyLearn account you will be able to view program details, submit an online application, receive status updates, program-specific announcements, and track enrollment checklists. The application will ask you to select your first and second choice for the January or summer program you would like to attend. Your program choice can be changed in the initial stages of the process, without additional application fees or penalties. STUDY ABROAD ADVISOR SIGNATURE FORM Once your application has been received, you will have an application checklist which will include a link to a study abroad advisor signature form. This must be completed by your study abroad office, even if you will have graduated by the time the short-term course commences. If no credit will be transfered to your home university, the study abroad office must make note of this and sign the form. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT Order one official transcript from your home university and include it with your application materials to GlobaLinks Learning Abroad or have your university mail it directly to our office. If you have completed coursework at more than one university or college, you must submit transcripts from each university/college you've attended. Transcripts must be official.
FACULTY REFERENCE For January and summer programs, a Faculty Reference Form must be completed online. Once your application has been received, your program details will be accessible through your MyLearn account (on the GlobaLinks Learning Abroad website). Your online application checklist will include a link which you can send via email to your advisor. Your advisor can then complete your specific reference form online. If you would prefer, a hard copy version of the form is also available from your MyLearn account.
PHOTOGRAPHS
Obtain four 2” x 2” color photographs (of your head and shoulders). These are for identification purposes on several forms and must be sent with your application. Please write your name on the back of each photo. You will need an additional two photos for your passport if you do not already have one.
APPLICATION FEE Write a check for $30 USD payable to GlobaLinks Learning Abroad. Canadian students should obtain a USD bank draft. Do not send cash. Application fees can also be paid online through your MyLearn account. The application fee is non-refundable. |
