What's Included in the GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Semester/Year Abroad Program:  

 

 

 

Tuition and Fees
Your program fee includes the tuition at the university abroad for full-time study (typically 4 classes) and all campus usage fees. Additional charges may apply for specific science, media, fine arts, or journalism subjects at some universities. The sports and recreation fees may be an additional cost.
 

 

 

Scholarships and Financial Aid
Scholarships are available to eligible participants through an application process available upon acceptance. Additionally, we work with your home university so that you can utilize your financial aid where available.
 

 

 

Academic Support 
GlobaLinks Learning Abroad takes your academic success seriously. We assist you with class selection and credit transfer approval prior to departure and provide you with connections to academic support services while abroad.
 

 

 

Transcript and Credit Transfer
After completion of your semester abroad, you and your home university will be provided with your official transcript and guidance on credit transfer.
 

  Immigration Visas & Passports
Don’t leave home without them! We will help you get the right documents for your program. Learn more about student visas in Australia, New Zealand, or Fiji.
 
 

 

Guaranteed Housing to Fit Your Lifestyle
Your housing is guaranteed. With a range of housing options, you will be able to select accommodation that fits your lifestyle and budget.
 

 

 

On-site Bridging Cultures Program
The on-site 5-6-Day Bridging Cultures Program is GlobaLinks Learning Abroad's renowned orientation. This program provides you with a chance to see amazing sites and meet other students, while giving you the orientation and briefing you need to begin your study abroad program.
 

 

 

Health Insurance
All GlobaLinks Learning Abroad students are provided with comprehensive health insurance through HTH Worldwide. In addition, you will be covered by the Australian OSHC insurance. Health Insurance is mandatory and included in the program fees. Learn more about Health Insurance>
 

 

 

Personal Program Counseling
Nothing can take the place of personal advising from an experienced individual who has lived abroad and is an expert on your program. Your GlobaLinks Learning Abroad coordinator can answer all of your questions and will assist you with determining the best university/program for you. Once you have made your program selection and have been accepted to a program, your GlobaLinks Learning Abroad coordinator assists you, your parents, and your advisors through all aspects of the orientation and preparation for your program abroad. Individual attention is paid to each student, and guidance is provided to students of all races, as well as GLBT students and those with specific religious or cultural needs,learning or physical disabilities.

 

 

 

MyLearn Online Portal
Your personal MyLearn account will be an essential tool to complete your pre-departure orientation and preparation.
 

 

 

Travel and Airport Pick-up
We arrange group flights for all GlobaLinks Learning Abroad participants through our travel partner, STA Travel. The cost of the flight varies and thus is not included in the program fee, however you will be able to book the flight through our online system and be assured to arrive at your destination as planned.
 

  Internet and Cell Phones

Trips and Tours
In addition to the Bridging Cultures Program, you may be looking for other trips and tours you can participate in while abroad. Many universities include excursions (indicated on the fee chart), and through our partnership with STA Travel, we provide you with other travel opportunities.
 

 

 

Volunteer Opportunities 
GlobaLinks Learning Abroad believes that volunteering while abroad provides you with a more fulfilling experience, thus we offer volunteer weekends for all interested students as well as ample resources for finding your own volunteer opportunity.

 

 

Community Integration
During your time abroad, GlobaLinks Learning Abroad encourages you to get involved in the local community and campus activities. We will connect you with local resources so that you can get the most out of your time abroad.
 

 

 

Global Identity Course
Enroll in this additional 1 credit course through University of Minnesota, Twin Cities focused on teaching you to articulate the value of your experience to future employers, demonstrate your intercultural development and skills, and understand intercultural interactions.
 

 

 

Global Citizen Development
The Global Citizen Development modules are online learning components created to enhance your study abroad experience.
 

 

 

EnCompass Alumni Program
Designed to provide you with the tools and outlets for reflection and application of your international experience, the EnCompass Alumni Program supports you even after you have returned home.

 

 

24/7 Onsite Student Support and Service
We take our role in the health and safety of our students seriously and thus employ a staff of professional Resident Directors overseas to support you during your time abroad. The GlobaLinks Learning Abroad South Pacific Education Support Centre is the center of operations for GlobaLinks Learning Abroad in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. Our South Pacific team members work in collaboration with the U.S. office to provide support 24 hours a day throughout your program.

You will meet several members of the South Pacific team during the Bridging Cultures Program, thus giving you the chance to get to know our Resident Directors. From the moment you arrive in country, you can be assured that you will have the knowledge and expertise of local staff members who are capable of handling any problem or situation that may arise. All Resident Directors are well versed on the support facilities and staff on campus and within the local community and can respond with professionalism and consideration.

 

 

If needed, a US institution transcript can be provided by our School of Record, University of Minnesota - Twin Cities for an additional cost of $350.
