| As an AustraLearn participant, you will be directly enrolled as an undergraduate student in a university in New Zealand. This allows you to take advantage of every opportunity to be involved in the campus environment and culture by participating in university activities with resident Kiwi students as well as other international students. To make the most of your time in New Zealand, and at your campus, we encourage you to take part in campus activities and the activities of your host town. Try rugby or netball in New Zealand, the home of both sports; take your turn at cricket, squash, bungee jumping, tramping, sailing, or snowboarding or support the local sports teams in the stands. Be sure to introduce yourself to Maori and Pacific culture through the Maori and Pacific studies departments or visit a local marae (Maori meeting house). At each university, the International Office sets up weekend excursions and social events throughout the semester for all international students. These activities allow you to meet other students while doing something fun or visiting a great destination, often at a discounted price. Some examples of activities are movie nights, sporting matches, pub crawls, and organized hiking expeditions. The following is a list of clubs which are available at many of the Universities listed in this guide; however, it is not an exhaustive list. Note that not every club is available at every institution.
