Employment As an overseas student in Fiji, you are not eligible to apply for a work permit while in Fiji and employment is very limited. We recommend that you have enough funds to cover your living expenses and travel needs while on this program, keeping in mind that you will be responsible to budget your funds for the entire semester. Money Matters The Fiji dollar is the basic unit of currency, available in denominations of $2, $5, $10, $20, and $50. There are 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, and $1 coins. You can use credit cards in several places in Fiji, especially the more touristy areas.
