Health Insurance in Australia

Australian government regulations require that all overseas students who are directly enrolled at an Australian university purchase health insurance known as the Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC). Several different insurance providers maintain these policies. This cost has already been added to your program fees, and AustraLearn will provide a full description of the plan with your acceptance. GlobaLinks Learning Abroad provides all students with an International Student Identity Card (ISIC) to complement the insurance coverage in Australia. This card offers extra emergency evacuation coverage for travel both in and out of Australia and New Zealand. We highly recommend that you consult with your own insurance or your parents’ insurance company regarding your overseas experience to ensure you will have adequate coverage. You may wish to investigate additional insurance for your baggage or unforeseen trip cancellation as these are not provided as part of your program fees.
