| Our staff's commitment to your program starts from the moment you inquiry about a program. Our personalized counseling will make the process of studying abroad easy and relaxed as we will make sure that all of your questions are answered and that you are comfortable and prepared for your abroad experience. You will be assigned a personal coordinator who will know your situation and be available to advise you. We are here to speak with you and your family, to answer questions and address concerns, from the time you first think about studying abroad, throughout the application and enrollment process, while you are abroad, and even upon your return. Contact our office at 1-800-980-0033 or by email at studyabroad@australearn.org. Or ask a question right now: AustraLearn's personalized advising is included in all semester/year abroad program fees and includes topics such as: Personalized Pre-Departure Advising Your AustraLearn Coordinator will assist you with all the steps required to select your classes, obtain transfer credit pre-approval at your home university, book airline tickets, arrange housing, transfer financial aid, sign up to volunteer abroad, and much more. Your personal coordinator is available Monday - Friday, 8-5 (MST) to answer any and all questions from you, your parents, or advisors. Immigration Visa Advising All AustraLearn participants must have a valid passport and student visa before traveling to Australia. A student visa allows you to attend a university for a specified period of time. AustraLearn will provide you with guidance for your visa application upon admission to the university abroad. It is not possible to attend a university on just a tourist visa. Students from countries other than the U.S. or Canada may be subject to additional visa requirements. The visa fee is not included in your program fees, because it is paid directly to the Australian government. Culture and Adventure Program - AustraLearn's In-Country Orientation Once you arrive in-country AustraLearn staff will pick you up from the airport and take you on a 4-6 day Culture and Adventure Program. During this time you'll learn about local culture, slang, health and safety, how to call home, how to open a bank account, and tons of other useful information. You'll have the opportunity to meet local people while volunteering in the local community as well as meet some of the countries native flora and faune through outstanding excursions. The Culture and Adventure Program is an ideal way to get your feet wet in your first few days abroad. Academic Mentor Program At every campus in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, AustraLearn offers an Academic Mentor program to help you succeed at your host university. 24-hours In-Country Service Before you depart through your entire semester and upon your return to Canada or the United States AustraLearn offers 24-hour Emergency Service. This phone number will be given to you and your parents so if at any time an urgent need arises you can call a phone number with a person on the other end, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Beyond Study Abroad End of Semester Program As your semester or year abroad comes to an end and you begin to face the realities of heading home AustraLearn offers the Beyond Study Abroad Program. Held for one day in multiple cities throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, we invite you to join us to talk about your semester abroad and your future returning to the U.S. or Canada. Just as you started your semester with the Culture and Adventure Program, you can end your semester talking with our staff about how your semester impacted you, what it's like to go home, how to write your experience into your resume, and much more. GlobaLinks Learning Abroad enCompass Program Now that you've returned to the U.S. or Canada AustraLearn will provide you with materials about re-entry and will give you the opportunity to join our active alumni program, the enCompass Program. Offered exclusively to AustraLearn, AsiaLearn, and EuroLearn students, the enCompass Program is a one of a kind opportunity to get involved. |
