Internship Program Financial Information

 

This is a fee-based program.  You are required to pay all the below fees for participation in this internship program.  Fees will go to cover your ousing, health insurance, travel insurance, ISIC card, cell phone, placement into an internship, 24-hour support, orientation, and pre-trip services

PDAC Internship Fees

Fees for Programs Starting  by June 2012*

Internship Fee and Academic Credit - $2,625
Mandatory On-Site Housing and Student Support - $4,345

Total Fees Paid to GlobaLinks Learning Abroad - $6,970
Additional Expenses such as airfare, meals, public transportation, and spending money will vary. 

 

*The fees listed are for internship programs starting June. For internship programs commencing in October 2011 or later, the fees are subject to change.

 

Custom Date Internship Fees

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad can arrange a wide variety of internship lengths. Therefore, your program fee will be based on the finalized internship offer that you receive from the internship site. The shortest duration internship that we can arrange is a 6 week placement. Below are the costs for the 6 week program:

Fees for Custom Date Internships longer than 6 Weeks
In addition to the fees listed above, the cost for each additional week in length will be $310 a week paid to GlobaLinks Learning Abroad.

Scholarships

There are a number of opportunities for scholarships to help you finance your international internship.  In addition to your university's study abroad office and various websites that offer scholarships, GlobaLinks Learning Abroad has also partnered up with two additional organizations to provide you with scholarship options.  Please note that for most scholarship opportunities, you must be receiving academic credit for your internship.  It can be harder to qualify for scholarships with a Custom Date or PDNC internship.

 

The Foundation for Global Scholars

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad interns are encouraged to apply for scholarships from various organizations for financial support for their overseas program. The Foundation for Global Scholars is a 501C(3) non-profit organization which provides scholarships for students studying or interning abroad anywhere in the world, including Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, and Spain. In each academic year, the Foundation awards more than $200,000 in scholarships and grants to students and interns pursuing programs of any type around the world.

 

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Internship Scholarships

 In addition to the general study abroad scholarships, The Foundation for Global Scholars in partnership with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad also offers an internship specific scholarship for GlobaLinks Learning Abroad internship participants. These awards are $1,000 each.

         

         

 

Diversity Abroad

Diversity Abroad will offer twenty, $1,000 each year. Six scholarship are available for the fall, six for the spring and eight for the summer. Scholarships are only available for students studying or interning abroad on programs offered by a Diversity Abroad member organization. Economically disadvantaged students, African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic/Latino and Native-American students are strongly encouraged to apply.
