Attractions in Lismore, Australia
 

View work by contemporary artists at the Lismore Regional Art Gallery and then the unique dry rainforest of Totary Park or the koalas at Tucki Tucki Nature Reserve. Escape summer heat with a short trip to Byron Bay for surfing and swimming or head for the hills to enjoy fascinating walks throughout the rainforests. Art Galleries/Workshops

Lismore's cultural scene is a vibrant mix of traditional, innovative and alternative arts. In Lismore city and its villages, you'll find an inspiring range of arts and crafts, galleries and workshops.

 

Sports and Health

Lismore is a sporting city with sports clubs ranging from basketball and soccer to table tennis. Grab a local paper to see what's on if you would like to watch a local match. Lismore City Council's Community Guide also contains an extensive list of all the local sports clubs and leisure centres.

 

 

Koala Care Center

Funded through money raised by Lismore’s “Friends of the Koala” group, this animal care centre is dedicated to caring for sick, injured or orphaned Koalas in the Lismore region. Open Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 3pm and Saturdays from 9.30am for guided tours . Entry by donation.  

 

Markets

The Rainbow Region is a buzz of activity on weekends. There is always a market happening somewhere in the area where it is possible to buy wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables, plants, homemade cakes and a wide range of crafty and practical items. It's a great way to spend a lazy morning out in the fresh air.

 

National Parks

In this lush pocket of northern NSW you'll find some stunning examples of nature: World Heritage-listed rainforest walks; koala sanctuaries; palm-filled gorges and spectacular waterfalls. Get out there and see it for yourself.

 

Nature Reserves/Dams

Both within Lismore and the surrounding hinterland, these reserved areas provide an oasis to explore and enjoy the idyllic native environment and enjoy the many birds, possums, koalas and other wildlife.
 
 

Outdoor/Active

 

From horse riding to picking blueberries, enjoy our beautiful climate by spending some time in the great outdoors. Also try searching our Parks, Nature Reserves and National Parks for more outdoor attractions.

 

Parks/Walkways

Lismore boasts a huge number of parks both within the city and in the surrounding district. Some offer facilities such as children's play equipment, BBQ's and picnic areas, while many have walking tracks which provide an opportunity to walk off that delicious picnic lunch.
