Public Transportation in Adelaide

Getting around Adelaide is easy with the city’s extensive public transportation system.  Services extend throughout the metro area, into the surrounding suburbs, and even to near-by Kangaroo Island. Ways to get moving include buses, trains, trams, bike hire, ferries and licensed taxis. Some of these services, like limited bus and bike services, offer free rides (be sure to check this out before boarding) but all transportation is reasonably priced.  When all else fails, your feet are a great way to get in motion; however, keep in mind that outside of the central business district, Adelaide tends to spread out.

Because of the central locality of South Australia, traveling by air to the rest of the scenic continent is quite easy.  Major airlines like Qantas, Virgin Blue and Regional Express, all provide service to surrounding destinations as well as far away spots.
