International Student Identity Card (ISIC Basic Insurance)

This card is a mandatory part of the Semester/Year Abroad program at the University of the South Pacific (Fiji), along with all Internship and Short Course programs in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji because of the insurance it provides. The card provides basic coverage, such as evacuation and repatriation, as well as a few student discounts in the country you are visiting. The cost of the card is included in your AustraLearn Program Fees. You will receive your ISIC card from AustraLearn prior to your departure.

ISIC Basic Coverage
International Student Identity Card (ISIC) – Basic Coverage
The following information has been taken from the ISIC Basic Insurance Description of Coverage (2008 policy information). Details are subject to change. Amounts noted are US dollars.

In the event of a claim, please refer to the following product number: 007439-CT P1 1/06. When calling from abroad, call collect 1.715.345.0505. When calling from the US, please call 1.877.370.4742.

Emergency Medical Transportation - The ISIC policy covers $300,000 for emergency medical transportation as a result of injury or emergency sickness during the Trip.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AIR) – The ISIC policy covers $5,000 for death and loss of limb(s) or eyesight during trip, within 365 days of an accident.

Medical Expense Benefit – The ISIC policy covers $25,000 Sick/Injury-related medical reimbursement (within on year from date of injury) for each accident during the trip.

Repatriation of Remains – The ISIC policy covers $25,000 in the event of death while traveling, and reimburses the reasonable covered expenses incurred to return your body to your city of burial.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment (Other) – The ISIC policy covers $1,000 for death of loss of limb(s) or eyesight during trip, within 365 days of accident.

Travel Document Replacement – The ISIC policy reimburses $500 for fees associated with the replacement of travel documents during the trip.

Travel Delay – The ISIC policy covers up to $100 of reasonable expenses if trip is delayed from more than 12 hours.

Baggage Delay – The ISIC policy reimburses $100 for the purchase of necessary personal effects if bags are delayed for more than 24 hours.
