University ServicesAUT offers a comprehensive range of support services to make students’ university experience as enjoyable as possible. These include health care, counseling, accommodation, orientation, learning support, student mentors, careers counseling, and campus activities. Students with a disability have access to note-takers, interpreters, and technology assistance. All students receive an AUT e-mail address and have access to word-processing, e-mail, internet services, and printing on campus.
AUT University has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students, published by the New Zealand Minister of Education. The friendly people of the International Student Support Team welcome you at orientation and are available to help students adjust to living and learning in a new culture. Assistance is offered with student visas, permits, student support, homesickness, and culture shock.HousingAUT provides AustraLearn students with accommodation in Wellesley Student Apartments in downtown Auckland. This accommodation includes 4-5 bedroom self-contained apartments, which AustraLearn students share with other international and New Zealand students.
AUT’s accommodation options focus on providing friendly, caring living environments with comfortable and secure accommodation. The facilities provided are catered to the needs of students. All rooms are fully furnished and each bedroom is telephone and internet ready. Shared accommodation also provides the opportunity to meet students from different countries and make new friends. The support provided by living amongst fellow students helps many new students adjust to studying abroad.OrientationAll Study Abroad students participate in an on-campus orientation. Orientation includes sessions covering computer log-ins, time management, assignment preparation, course outlines, campus tours, city tours, the university email system and an introduction to the services and facilities available. Fee IncludesProgram fees are in U.S. dollars. Program Fees include tuition for 3 to 4 subjects, university administrative fees, membership in the student union (where applicable), overseas health coverage, ISIC Premium (International Student Identity Card), 25% Lonely Planet Book discount, also included is our renowned 4-day Program Introduction in Rotorua, New Zealand. Fees include all pre-trip services such as: orientation materials, visa-processing service (excluding the visa fee), housing placements, personal advising, subject selections, liaise with your home university, credit transfer assistance, and financial aid services.
As a study abroad student, you will be required to enroll as a full time student. Your semester is equivalent to 12-16 U.S. credits. Additional tuition and/or fees may apply in some subject areas not limited to the following: science, engineering, fine arts, and journalism. Students who undertake subjects where the university requires additional fees will be billed by the host university. Several universities have included the Sports and Rec. membership. Activities are usually extra.
The Housing Fee is in addition to the Program Fees and may be an average for universities with multiple housing options. Students who select “apartment living arranged upon arrival” will only be charged the Program Fees, and housing costs will be paid on arrival by the student. Entry RequirementsApplicants must have the required GPA and have completed at least the equivalent of one year of full-time study at the university/college level.
Students with a lower GPA than the requirement may be considered on a case by case basis. Please contact our office for more information.

Study-Internship ProgramAUT University can arrange a customized part-time internship placement in Auckland in any area of study for AustraLearn students. Along with the part-time internship, students will also enroll in two classes of their choice and earn credit for both the internship and classes from AUT.
Please note that the deadline for the AUT University Study Internship Combination Program is earlier than AustraLearn's standard deadline. The deadline is October 15th for the February-June semester and March 15th for the July-November semester.University Specific ScholarshipsLocated in the heart of Auckland, AUT is a purpose built campus with an extremely accommodating staff and faculty.
