Auckland international provides a comprehensive Orientation Week to help you settle in to the University, followed by an exciting program of activities and festivals run throughout the year to help you make friends and meet local people. In addition, workshops and information sessions are regularly held in iSPACE (our International student lounge) to help you adjust to life at The University of Auckland and in New Zealand.
Clubs and Sports
On campus there are around 120 clubs and societies, ranging from cultural associations from all over the world, to clubs for tramping, canoeing, photography, film, and yoga. The University of Auckland has the largest university library in New Zealand plus 11 subject-specific libraries. As well as print, multimedia, and micro text collections totaling over 2 million items. You have a variety of accommodation options available, from a catered hall of residence, a self-catered apartment to a shared flat. International students are eligible to live in all the residences and the fees are the same for all students.
OrientationAuckland International, the University’s international office, arranges an extensive orientation program for new international students. International Orientation is an entertaining way to find out all you need to know about studying at The University of Auckland, living in Auckland and enjoying your New Zealand experience. Plus you could win fantastic prizes! Last semester, students won bungy jumps, NZ backpacker bus passes, sailing adventures and much more.
By attending the information sessions you'll learn about ID cards, accommodation, flatting and other aspects of student life. You can also find out about the support services that are available to help you reach your academic potential. As a study abroad student, you will be required to enroll as a full time student. Your semester is equivalent to 12-16 U.S. credits. Additional tuition and/or fees may apply in some subject areas not limited to the following: science, engineering, fine arts, and journalism. Students who undertake subjects where the university requires additional fees will be billed by the host university. Several universities have included the Sports and Rec. membership. Activities are usually extra. The Housing Fees are approximates and are in addition to the Program Fees.
