Kensington Campus
The main campus of 85 acres is at Kensington, 4.5 miles southeast of Sydney's central business district. It is a 20-minute bus ride to downtown and Sydney Harbor. University ServicesIn addition to the wide range of university-wide services offered by a campus this size, UNSW offers study abroad students personalized academic counseling throughout the semester, an individual enrollment process, access to a computer lounge, and a range of organized social and voluntary activities.
The Sport and Recreation Center serves the Sports Association and 42 sporting clubs. It includes eight squash courts, seven tennis courts, a 50m indoor heated swimming pool, a large gymnasium and gymnastic pit, androoms for fencing, table tennis, judo, archery, fitness circuits, weight lifting, karate, aerobics, and jazz ballet.HousingStudents may be placed in either an on-campus residential college or an off-campus UNSW Study Abroad-leased housing. Residential colleges foster an atmosphere in keeping with their own ethical values and educational philosophy. Off-campus students will stay in one of 80 properties ranging from large homes to smaller-style apartments, all located in the beachside or close to the university suburbs of Randwick, Coogee, and Bondi.OrientationA comprehensive, full-day orientation session is organized to help students settle into Sydney life and adjust to study at UNSW. Fee IncludesProgram fees are in U.S. dollars. Program Fees include tuition for 3 to 4 subjects, university administrative fees, membership in the student union (where applicable), overseas health coverage, ISIC Premium (International Student Identity Card), 25% Lonely Planet Book discount, also included is our renowned 4-day Program Introduction in Tropical Cairns, Australia. Fees include all pre-trip services such as: orientation materials, visa-processing service (excluding the visa fee), housing placements, personal advising, subject selections, liaise with your home university, credit transfer assistance, and financial aid services.
As a study abroad student, you will be required to enroll as a full time student. Your semester is equivalent to 12-16 U.S. credits. Additional tuition and/or fees may apply in some subject areas not limited to the following: science, engineering, fine arts, and journalism. Students who undertake subjects where the university requires additional fees will be billed by the host university. Several universities have included the Sports and Rec. membership. Activities are usually extra.
The Housing Fee is in addition to the Program Fees and may be an average for universities with multiple housing options. Students who select “apartment living arranged upon arrival” will only be charged the Program Fees, and housing costs will be paid on arrival by the student. She is the coordinator for Australia National University, Macquarie University, University of New South Wales, University of Sydney, and University of Technology-Sydney, all in Australia.
Bri received her BA in History and Politics from Regis University in Denver, and a minor in Leadership Studies. She studied abroad in London, England, and during her time abroad, she was able to see Scotland, Sweden, France, and Belgum. Bri is also an AustraLearn alum from the short course Leadership program in New Zealand
Advice From The Coordinator: UNSW is in a great location with easy access to Sydney's best beaches and the city center. While you're there, definitely do the coastal cliff walks from Coogee to Bondi. The views are spectacular! |
