ELIGIBILITY - Must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen.
- Must be age 30 or under at the time of application.
- All applicants must be full-time students either starting or completing their 3rd year (junior year) of a degree program at a U.S. or Canadian university in order to enroll for the academic credit on this program.
- All students will need to confirm credit transfer with their home institution before applying.
- Students who have graduated or who do not want academic credit on these internships will still have to perform under the same specifications as though credit were awarded.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required to participate, however, some placements may have more stringent eligibility requirements.
DATES AND DEADLINES All PDAC internships are 10 weeks in length and arranged for specific dates. These dates cannot be changed, however if you are unable to participate at the set dates, or need an internship placement for a duration other than 10 weeks, Custom Designed Internship placements (which do not include credit from Chapman University) are available at any time of year for various durations. See Custom Designed Internship Details for more information. All applications are processed as they are received, and placements often fill prior to application deadlines. Applications are accepted up to one year in advance; it is suggested that you apply early for your best chance at your chosen placement.  Dates for 2009 are: February 3 - April 17 - Application Deadline: October 1, 2008 May 26 - August 7 - Application Deadline: February 1, 2009 June 30 - September 11 - Application Deadline: March 1, 2009 September 22 -December 4 - Application Deadline: June 1, 2009 Note: Not all placements are available for each intake PROGRAM FEES Program fees for 10-Week PDAC Placements in 2009 are $2,195 USD for the Internship fee and Academic Credit plus $2,780 USD for Mandatory On-Site Housing and Student Support (Subject to change for future dates). The program costs include delivery of the internship as stated, student supervision, airport reception, ongoing Management and student support, housing (rent only) in a homestay or shared apartment, six credits from Chapman University, orientation and briefing sessions, final evaluation statement, and basic pre-trip services Provided by AustraLearn. Predeparture services include assistance with visas, airline tickets, and orientation. These internships are unpaid. |
