| Requirements to use financial aid while abroad are set by the government and administered by U.S. universities. Please verify with the financial aid office for more information about student’s using current financial aid packages (i.e. Perkins Loan, Stafford Loan, Pell Grant, Plus Loans or other campus based aid) toward the AustraLearn program. AustraLearn will allow students to defer payment deadlines when transferring financial aid until monies are released from the home university. AustraLearn will work closely with you to provide a full program budget and details for transferring aid to the student’s account at AustraLearn. If a student is using financial aid, the appropriate office must complete the AustraLearn Financial Aid Disbursement Form and return it to the AustraLearn office as soon as possible. This form indicates the amount of financial aid that will apply to the student’s program fees and the exact date of disbursement. With this form, students are eligible for a reduced first payment of $1,200, instead of the standard $3,500, which must be made by the 2nd payment deadline. (Semester or Year Abroad Programs) Upon receipt of the Financial Aid Disbursement form, monthly billing statements will indicate the financial aid amount and disbursement date. This information will be listed in the top right corner of the billing statement. Students are responsible for all payments for the program, regardless of the financial aid guarantee. Therefore, AustraLearn highly recommends that students ensure all necessary paperwork and transfer documents have been completed before departure. |
