Student Insurance All AustraLearn programs include comprehensive international health insurance for the duration of your program. The insurance is included in the program fees and is mandatory for each AustraLearn program participant. AustraLearn recommends that you maintain your current primary health insurance where possible while abroad. This is particularly important if you have any pre-existing conditions, but is also beneficial if you have an injury or illness while abroad and require further treatment upon your return home. You should consult with your current insurance provider to confirm coverage policies while traveling abroad. Policies will vary from company to company and you will want to have all of the information before your departure to make the most educated decision about purchasing additional health coverage. Insurance for Semester and Year Abroad Programs - Australia and New Zealand Students attending Semester or Year Abroad Programs in Australia and New Zealand will be covered under the specific national health plan. These policies typically exclude mental illness or pre-existing conditions, and do not cover health needs when traveling to other countries. Insurance at Australian Universities Insurance at New Zealand Universities Students with pre-existing conditions, who require additional insurance, may want to consider the HTH Worldwide policy in addition to the national health plan. Please contact your AustraLearn program coordinator. In addition to the national health plans for students studying for a semester or year abroad in Australia or New Zealand, these students will receive the mandatory insurance through ISIC Premium: Premium International Student ID Card (ISIC) Insurance for Semester and Year Abroad Programs - Fiji Students attending a Semester or Year Abroad Program in Fiji will be provided accident and sickness insurance under the HTH Worldwide policy. Insurance at the University of the South Pacific (Fiji) In addition to the HTH Worldwide insurance policy for students studying for a semester or year abroad in Fiji, these students will receive the mandatory insurance through ISIC Premium: Premium International Student ID Card (ISIC)
